Before the system
Work orders written in a notebook, raw material that runs out halfway through a part, machines that clash on the calendar and costs that only turn up at the end of the month.
With the system
Every order records its real material consumption and its hours by machine and by operator. Inventory warns before stock falls below minimum, the calendar catches the clashes and the cost per part is visible while the part is being made.
